National theater, 1968, demolished 2008 - Vann Molyvann Collection
Highlights on the Vann Molyvann Project. From their website:
Cambodian architecture is well known for the temples and monuments of Angkor; but the country is also home to an extraordinary, and imminently threatened, collection of modern buildings from the 1950's and 60's.
US architect Bill Graves will present his project at the Meta House this Tuesday (Aug. 18), which aims to call attention to one of the most important collections of modern architecture in the developing world; to rigorously document it; and to inspire a new generation of architects to challenge the hegemony of the air-conditioned glass box. Don't miss it!
